Self help is the best medicine

If you have acute (short-term) low-back pain, help doctors you through advice you like to stay as active as possible, prescribing medication for the pain makes it difficult to stay active and prescribing manipulation if you need it.

But the most important steps in connection with low back pain are the things you do to help you; no one else can do it for you.Important to take the initiative and help you from the beginning.

First, you will be in a lot of pain, but remember the pain can be controlled; Ask the supplier treatment for pain relief and if you are having problems making your common tasks, query the help or other aid and assistance is available.

Bed rest for more than two days is not good for your back-this has been proved by scientific evidence.

The majority of back pain will be more quickly

Fortunately, the majority of back pain may better rather quickly, often within a month, even if it is not uncommon that still has a few petigheterna.

Keep active, set itself the target to build up your fitness, concentrate on your core strength, Pilates is perfect for this. Exercise and weight loss is the key to back the recovery if you are over weight.Statistics show that 90% of people with back pain to get over it and go to live a normal life without surgery.

What happens if it happens again

Many people have more than one episode of back pain, but that doesn't mean it is serious. You have a better chance to have a healthy spine, when you restore you fit and stay fit.To stop you getting back pain again, even if it cannot be your pain less severe or help you recover faster.

Walking, Cycling and swimming is for you.Almost anyone can do at least one of them and they are free or cost very little. Keys to exercise a success, except for a little time every day and keep it going.

10 years ago after lifting a heavy objects and go a few steps with it I knew an incredible pain in my back-end, all I could do was set to ease the pain, but each time I moved the pain was unbearable. After seeing my GP I was prescribed anti-inflammatory tablets and physiotherapy, the main recommendations from the Physio was keep moving, not involving around, constant but gentle mobility.

This damage lasted only 6 weeks and I kept working, when injury seemed to go I forgot all about motion and threw me back to work.

Then slipped 4 years later I as I stepped out of a door, which falls hard on stage and hitting my back end, Off I went to GP and Physio again; this time the damage that took 10 days to settle, again no time off work, but lots of exercise and advice from Physio bulk and fade. Well not me, I just got stuck straight back to work and perhaps if I had followed the advice I would not myself where I am now.

Today after 15 months of constant pain, 3 epidural injections, each test known to modern man I faced with major surgery, a double fusion and single disc replacement; Opioid pain killers I take when really bad ensure that I am not fully aware of things going on around me, they make you dry, high and dependent.

What have I learned from all this, how can you avoid ending up like me, and it's easy if you damage the back for the first time, take the advice of a health care professional if you don't exercise, start, never stop, bulk and pay special attention to your core muscles; These are the muscles that support your back, will wrap around you like a corset and support your Core muscles in the neck; your ab and need targeted exercises that enable them.

Pilates and Yoga are both large system to strengthen your core, although Pilates is probably the best choice for your lower back, my friend and I started to Pilates together, I started because I couldn't move with this injury, she started because she could not do more than 30 minutes, gardening without back pain.

It has helped me, but my injury is large and requires surgery, my friend, well after 1 year of Pilates can now garden throughout the day, berries in shopping, playing with her children without any hint of back pain!

So, keep moving, exercise, bulk and never stop, if you have bad luck and has already reached my, look forward not back, be positive, to join a support group and remember there is always someone worse off.
